Only charitable care homes would qualify - not the commercial ones!

But surely residents pay fees (or have them paid for them) in both private and publicly run homes?

Is there a FareShare near you?

I'd recommend not re-inventing the wheel if you can avoid it!

Although charitable care homes may be subsidising fees for residents, or certain residents, eg those who were in the Armed Forces / other particular careers, and anything they don't have to spend on food is money to be spent elsewhere, plus what we get from FareShare is definitely classier than what we would usually feed our clients on!

Although DH's cafe had to put caviar into a fish soup because they weren't sure their clients (substances abusers mostly) would want caviare on its own! (is there really an e on caviar? the spell checker seems to think so ...)

Sorry - not meaning to nitpick!
  • Hi All, thanks for the input.

The idea of having to pay franchise fees troubles us as well, and we are looking at both sides of this argument currently.

Fareshare doesn't have anywhere near Stoke Barehills, so we are looking at paralleling with the local Furniture Project.

And we will only be taking tinned or dried food, not almost out of date yogurt.
