I need to understand and hence doing some research on: business to business Internet Services Provider in the UK

Can anyone tell me more about this industry,i.e. what is it, how it works, competition, what effects it, what consumers look for etc.

In particular i have Star.co.uk as an example

I think you'll have to be more detailed otherwise it looks like you are doing a research project for college or Uni and want people to do it for you.

B2B ISPs provide more advanced services, faster and more guaranteed than those to personal consumers, it's quite simple.

Read up on some that offer business packages, compare across the providers, see what they look for.

A business (not consumer, although essentially most look for many items which are similar) looks for price (everyone does), service quality, uptime, speed, contention, services offered etc, just for starters.
