microsoft outlook

I am using vista. I have downloaded the outlook connector following the instructions given by microsoft. Have restarted the computer and it still doesn't work. Usually when using outlook, after clicking send/receive a window appears for me to put in my hotmail password. Now it is not doing that and the error is:

Task 'Hotmail - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC33) : 'Access to the account was denied. Verify that your username and password are correct. The server responded 'Forbidden'. '

Same thing if I have signed in on hotmail account.

Has anyone else had problems? Do I need to do something else?

Comments

  • have you tried signing in through hotmail's web page? - to check that your login details are correct?
  • yep, even when I am logged in to hotmail it doesn't connect. It didn't automatically connect before either, a window would pop up for me to sign in.
  • i'm not sure about vista (still using xp at home and work) but i presume you've double checked all your account settings in outlook.

Maybe you should start again, and input your account settings a fresh

Also check to make sure you have the relevant boxes ticked ( i can't check at work due to access restriction)

Sorry i couldn't be more help
  • Thanks, I read through the help again and added as a new account my hotmail again and when I click on the progress send/receive it is showing that it is doing something but it is taking ages and ages. I did start over before but I'll probably end up starting over again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it worked so well before microsoft changed things.
