Street Furniture damage claim

The saga continues - after own fault total loss claim on fully comp policy - insurers have paid out agreed value of total loss. Now 2 weeks after - local council is claiming 3rd party losses for damage to street furniture - which I did inform the insurers off during 1st claim call.
Would the insurers normally take this off the agreed settlement or is it separate? Can they demand I pay this back off the settlement they have already given me?

Total loss of the vehicle is seperate to the 3rd party claim.

But there is noone else to claim from as was my fault so does this get taken off my settlement or does insurer absorb the costs itself?

It comes out of a seperate part of the policy that covers your liability so the money you received for your car is safe

The insurer pays out you AND the 3rd party seperately.
As the money is not recovered this will count against you as a fault claim and you will need to declare it in future insurance quotes and I believe that applies for 3 years.

But your claim is not reduced by the fact that there are other claims.

So when go to reinsure I declare 2 separate accident/claims? I would have thought I just declare the 1 accident date/details

Correct, you only had one accident / claim.
