Money missing, Abbey driving me nuts!

Firstly appologies for what may well be a long post.
When I checked my recent bank statement, it was evident that all was not well. In fact, there was £930 missing! On closer inspection, this had been taken in two transactions, one for £30 (using a debit card) made to O2, three days later £900 disapeared, into a Royal Bank account. I have no dealings with either of these companys, and I was out of the country on holiday at the time (I dont know if this actually makes any difference).
I contacted Abbey on the same day 28/8/09, to report this. In fact I spent the best part of the morning phoning, going through the hated automated system, being transferred, being given the wrong phone numbers, and then starting the process again . I was told that my account would be blocked while they looked into the matter, and I would have to go into branch with two forms of ID to withdraw/make payments. That, I readily accepted. However yesterday, two weeks after the initial contact, I received a new debit card, and a note to say that the £30 had been replaced into my account. Great I thought, NOT as it turned out. I again contacted Abbey to find out what was happening to the £900 which is still missing. First I was informed that my new card had been issued in error, and was useless, and another had been issued. Then after going through all the above again, I was told that I was being transferred to the fraud dept. (which is what I initially phoned for). After holding for about 10 mins, I was put through to a dept (not fraud), admittedly the woman was helpful, she was able to tell me that the money had been withdrawn either over the phone or in branch?? She did manage to transfer me to the fraud dept, who informed me that they had NO record of a complaint regarding the £900!? (So who answered the phone a fortnight ago, a cleaner?)
. And would I now like her to open a case. I'm just so frustrated.
I'm thinking now, what do you need to open a bank account? I've never lost my passport, driving licence or birth cert. I burn anything with any personal details. So how have they accessed my account got a debit card from my account and managed to transfer money? Will I ever get to know?
Any answers greatly appreciated, and sorry for the long post.

You should report this to the police. get a crime number. This will help when you talk to the banks fraud department.
Always ask and note down the name of the person you are speaking to.
Good LuckThere will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0
