Help! Lost all my Internet faves!

I use Firefox instead of I.E, logged on before and all my faves were there, the pc crashed and now everyone of my fave saved sites has disappeared. Is there anyway I can get them back please?

Have they disapeared from both browsers or just the one?

Firefox bookmarks (favourites) are stored in the bookmarks.html file in your profile folder.

If bookmarks.html is there, you can try importing it.

Need some more expert advice please, spoke too soon on this, when I imported all my faves, it actually imported my I.E faves and not Firefox! Why would my I.E faves be saved under Firefox? Anymore tips appreciated.

Did you find your old Firefox bookmarks?

They are usually backed up in:

    C:\Documents and Settings\ <<usernamer>> \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ <<randomnumber>>.Default\bookmarkbackups

If you go to File then Import, it only gives you the option of importing from Opera or IE.

But if you go to Bookmarks then Manage Bookmarks, you can then select File then Import from the bookmarks manaager - you will have the additional option of Importing From File.

Point this to one of your Bookmarks Backups files and you should have them all back.
