chopandchange I read that to mean that if you deposited any extra money onto the card there is a minimum amount of £30, may be wrong though.

It was this bit that worried me:

emmasebeth, I see what you mean. So we can still spend the fiver but we have to pay 9 euros to be allowed to spend it? That's not much of a "giveaway," then. I'm glad I haven't activated mine!

I've just had the 5 euro wem too - no wonder they afford to give so many away most of us won't use them so it hasn't cost them anything apart from a bit of postage and they look generous sending all these 5 euros out which will probably never be redeemed!!!

Morning everyone. I got a WEM this morning too.

If there's already 5 Euro on it, maybe it's already activated? Just a thought.
