When you say freezing does the whole PC lock up, that is whatever you were doing on screen is frozen? Is the keyboard responsive when the PC has frozen, does the caps lock key light up when pressed, does ctrl+alt+del work at all?
How often does the PC flock up?
Do you have plenty of free space on your Hard Drive?
Have you run a scandisk and defrag on the Hard Drive?
Have you scanned for viruses and malware?
Can you narrow down the issue to a particular application, for example the PC freezes when IE is used or x application is in use?
What Operating System are you using?
Does running Windows in safe mode make any difference?0 -
we get no response from mouse/keyboard at all
locks up 2/3 times a day
have run scans/defrag
no particular program but always when on internet
lots of free space on hard drive
use IE

So it only ever locks up when using internet explorer?
Id recommend uninstalling (Or disabling if you cant) all dodgy toolbars (Personally I only use googles)
Id also recommend using firefox for a while to determine if the problem is only with IE
Run checks for nasties too ~
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -

When you say you get no response from the mouse and keyboard, does the mouse move? Can you click on the taskbar, and click to open programs, but then nothing opens? If so, I've got the exact same issue.
It only happened on Tuesday for the first, so I'm guessing a faulty windows update. I've run 3 different online scans and malwarebytes and superantispyware, all of which are clean. (Not that I'd expect otherwise, considering I used the recovery disk to wipe my computer the saturday before!)Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
