I don't thinks so. Although Hereford is on the Great Western network, nowhere north of that is. The Club 55 deal is only for travelling on the Great Western network.

It's only valid on the FGW network - although the train doesn't have to be a FGW one

  • Hi - just saw in the papers this weekend that the Scotrail Over-55s Club has started up again for winter and have checked the Scotrail website for confirmation. (Sorry, I'm not allowed as a new user to post a web link here.) Over 55s can get a return ticket between any two stations in Scotland for £15 and can also get this fare on journeys to and from Berwick-on-Tweed and Carlisle. Only runs from 1st September till 13th December. :j

Arriva Trains Wales Club 55 is similar.

Arriva serve Hereford and places north to Manchester, so may help.
  • I just went to my train station in Swansea and bought a ticket to London. First Great Western have this promotion running to 13 November on their network- basically South Wales and South West England to London. Its also running on the Arriva Trains Wales network.
You can buy an off peak return anywhere on the network for £25, or £45 first class. I have a railcard but this promo works out cheaper than the discounted fare for the journey I want to make.
