Fundraising Icebreaker for charity Ball

Options
Hi all

I am organising a charity Ball in a few weeks time and would like an icebreaker type game to play at the start.

Last year they had ''heads and tails' where everyone paid £1 and the DJ called heads or tails and you had to put your hands on your head or your bottom. He then said 'heads sit down' and repeated it, switching between heads and tails sitting down until he was down to a final 6 who went up to the front and last one in won £25 from the pot and the rest was 'profit'.

I will run this again if necessary but wondered if anyone had anything else they had done ?

Thanks

You need a balloon for each person, plus extras, several different colours.
    1. Put people in to groups of 8-15 - you could find an interesting way to do this, eg by table, or some other criteria.
    2. Mark locations in the room for groups to begin and move balloons to, eg corners, boxes, circles made from tape.
    3. Each person gets a balloon which they have to inflate and tie up. Same colour for each person in a group.
    4. Object is for groups to get their balloons to the designated area before other groups. 1st group to get all their balloons in the area is the winner. Groups must put their hands behind them and clasp them - they may not use their hands to move balloons. They have one minute to decide how to move balloons. They can change their strategy as the game progresses, but must not use hands.
    5. Allow all groups to complete the task before calling time.
    6. Announce the groups in order they completed the task.
Anyone who is physically unable to take part can be cheerleaders, strategists, coaches, etc.
You couls charge £1 for the balloon and give a prize to the winning team.
