  • Hi, totally agree with you, its about choice. I have always been a frugal person, (before it was called money saving!). Don't have debts, and if I can't afford it, wont buy it. I try and find a trade off between conviennce (sp?), time saving and money saving. I know it won't work for everyone, but suits me. I am also fortunate that being a money saver is a choice (hate to see waste and like to spend less if possible)) not a financial necessity.

Like you, my DH used to laugh at me, until he really, really wanted quite an expensive boy toy. (very large Honda motor bike) He doesn't usually spend much on himself, or ask for much. He was thrilled to bits when I was able to tell him (after shopping around for best deal of course) to go ahead and get it.

I save as much as possible to fund an expensive holiday habit!!

I know what you all mean. And yet another complication will be with many of us shortly in the terms of the clocks coming forward an hour. In the days of my grandparents, and even my late parents, this just just involved walking round the house and winding back a couple of clocks. This has now become a major operation in our house with all the electrical appliances, i.e. the cooker clock, the microwave clock, the video recorder, the Hi Fi, etc. and seems to take half the morning. As I can never remember how to alter the clock on my car, I drive around for half the year with it one year out of synch :rotfl:It's easier to do this than wading through the darned manual to find out how it's done.
