PCN for parking with one or more wheels on or over a footpath

Hi members,
Please advise on what should I be doing as I had recieved a ticket code:62 for parking with one or more wheels on or over a footpath.
I had parked at 18.45 i.e., after 18.30 on a single yellow line with one or more more wheels on a footpath. The reason I did this was there were marked bays right in front of my car (which were full at that point in time) which permitted the same. As the road being narrow the marked bays permitted this type of parking on both sides of the road.Assuming it was OK and after the parking restrictions of 18.30, I decided to park in the same manner as the bays.
Please advise as I've to respond or pay the fine.
Regards,
JJ

If this is in London, with a few exceptions, there is a blanket ban on pavement parking which is generally very hard to escape from.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Parking with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than a carriageway [code:62]
This is what it exactly said.
