Help! Abbey National Whats Going On

Hi

What on earth is going on with Abbey National Valuation Surveys?

Our estate agents have been told about three times now that the valuation survey will be booked but it dont.

The buyers solicitors have even been told that it was going to get booked in the day before yesterday or yesterday but again,no it didnt get booked.

Why do they keep saying its going to get done when it dont?

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

We have got the contract sitting at home ready to send back to be exchanged but we cant do this as we not had the survey done yet.

What can the estate agents, solicitors, buyer & ourselves do?

Any advice would be great
What about getting the solicitors to speak to the manager of Abbey National

who is arranging your mortgage? Get onto them. Our mortgage broker has been great, keeping us informed and chasing it up. We are using Countrywide for an Abbey Mortgage and they did they survey within 2 weeks of the mortgage application going in.

    Sorry can't offer further advice.

I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like? :D :A :D
  • Hello

Currently getting a mortgage with Abbey, and hope to have the survey this week. Will let you know how I get on but the Advisor believes it should be done very soon. I.e today. This is the end of week 4 after the offer has been accepted
Starting Mortgage of £133,000 in Dec
    Wish me luck
    Target £120,000 by 12/12/12
  • Its Abbey. They seem to have caught the worst excesses of a spanish "Manana" mentality....

I'd get everybody to shout at the highest level person they know. Other than that you'll have to wait. And wait. And wait some more. And then wait even longer. And then they will ask you for some irrelevant bit of paper, such as your junior school bronze swimming certifcate. And then you wait again. Fianally they agree to fax something to your solicitors. And then you wait for the fax machine (have they got only one?).
  • Thank you all for your replys.

We sold around the middle of July.

    Its so frustrating.

The next time I speak to our estate agents I will get them to get the buyers solicitors to speak to the mananger of Abbey.

If it was my mortgage I would be putting in a major complaint.

    Keep your ideas coming in.

    Thanks.
  • I think I've mentioned to you before, but our buyers waited about 9 or 10 weeks before Abbey completed the survey. If we weren't going through the same thing with Abbey ourselves, we wouldn't have believed it could take so long,
It's worth remember that Abbey won't survey until the underwriters have approved the financial side of things.

    Thank you.

Our estate agents have had an email from the buyers solicitors which I got a copy of today, saying that nothing is outstanding, hes checked the Abbey system & a mortgage offer will be issued within the next 3 days as it is with the underwriters which means that the valuation should definately get done today (meaning weds 9th Sep) or tommorrow (10th Sep) which is when the email was sent.

By the sound of this it sounds as though they have done a drive by valuation.

Estate agents didnt think they did this any more.

What do you think or anyone else think ?
