Adobe Reader - printing with comments?

Hi,

I have just received my thesis back from my supervisor, as a pdf with comments (I sent it to him as a pdf, he's attached comments in Adobe Acrobat).

I only have Adobe Reader (v. 8.1.3.) not acrobat - too expensive!

I can see the comments on sticky notes on screen, but when I print out, the comments are not in the printed version. Is there a way to print so that I can have the sticky notes comments printed on the page (like printing in word with the markup comments bubbles showing in the margin)?

It's 300 + pages to edit, so I don't fancy having to read all the comments on screen...

Any help would be awesome, thank you!!!

P.S. Having posted, I've tried some more reading around online: I know that there is *meant* to be a way, using the Preferences>Commenting>Print Notes and Pop ups, but I don't have 'commenting' as an option in my preferences dialog box...

In the print dialog box there is a Comments and Forms drop down (usually under properties), which can be set to: Document, Document & Markups, Document & Stamps.

The 2nd one will print all markup and changes, but not comments...

But according to Adobe using Reader this is how you do it: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Reader/8.0/help.html?content=WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7bdf.html

However then there is another thread, saying you need to alter the registry! http://forums.adobe.com/thread/391848
  • Thanks for your reply Isofa - I've just tried a page that way (one that I know has sticky notes on it) and all I get is the original pdf with no sticky, comment or anything else!!

    Any other ideas or help?

    Cheers

You could try installing Foxit Reader, to see if that will assist?

It's also 300+ pages to print!! (I assume you don't pay for paper/ink/toner!).
  • Thanks - I'll try installing the reader you suggest.

As for the printing part - I have to proof read the whole thing as well, including footnotes in 10pt font, and Egyptian in a transliteration font, so I kind of do have to print it yes!! And sadly I do pay for my own ink. But paper was a present from my mum to get me through the last bit :T
