NCT Nearly New Sales - fed up with ebay?

I was getting fed up with packaging up and posting all those kids bits i'd sold on ebay for only 99p - but i've found a new way to sell my stuff. NCT Nearly New Sales!
I literally label my stuff up (if i want £2 i ask for £2), drop it off, they sell it, i pick up my unsold bits at the end and they send me a cheque! OK - they take their bit (percentage comission) for charity but it's a lot less hassle than ebay and a good way of selling lots in one go.
I've just registered for my local next sale in October (in fact i've registered for 2 sales at 2 branches which are run slightly differently).
Also i've kitted both my boys out in the past for a fraction of the cost it would cost new - and nobody can outbid you although you might need to sharpen your elbows before you get there - it's like hardcore sale shopping sometimes!!
I'm looking for Xmas pressies this time (got a Bob friction Lofty for 50p last time) - the toy range has always been huge and bargains are always to be found.
I found out about it on the website just google 'NCT Nearly New Sale', me and friends love them and now volunteer because we get first dibs too!

Quite surprised to see there is even one in my area, we don't have kids so I'll pass- but I'll definitely tell some people. ;)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
  • And if you really want to find some bargains - ask about volunteering at the nearly new sale. Many sales offer their helpers the nice advantage of being able to shop before the public comes in! :j

As an organiser of an NCT sale - we always need more volunteers - the more help the easier it is for everyone from helpers to sellers.

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.
  • I went to my first one last March and it was great. I was expecting a kind of jumble sale/car boot, but it was more like a shop, with the things displayed in groups (ie all the jigsaws together etc).

I picked up loads of toys (prob. got about £100 worth for £15), some dressing up and some summer clothes (also bragains eg Next boys outfit for £3!)

I wish I'd have gone when I was pregnant as there were loads of helpers there, guiding the parents to be around the sale, advising them what they needed. I remember buying loads of useless stuff at Mothercare, cos the staff there were useless at giving me any advice and I didn't have a clue!

Be prepared for a bit of a scramble at the beginning though. Think "next sales' then double it! The baby clothes and equipment section were especially manic. If you are looking for key items like pushchairs, stair gates, high chairs etc I'd suggest grabbing these first as they seem to go VERY quickly. There was still loads of decent clothes/toys left at the end, so I'd get the other stuff first. Might be worth taking a freind, as I had to stop shopping when I couldn't carry anymore!

Put in NCT into google then on their main page they have a search facility to "find your nearest Nearly New Sale" There was loads near me in Nottingham.
