What Have You Done Today DFW Stylee? Sat 6th May

Hello! I haven't been in the right frame of mind recently to start this thread or even post much in those who have started it (re: the break in) but I am feeling a bit more positive today so thought I would start it off.
I got a cheque in the post from British Gas for just over £10 as I was in credit with my electric (I have moved suppliers) so I am going to post that off today.
I have posted off a loan agreement to Sainsburys.... HOWEVER before anyone has a seizure, it is not a debt consolidation loan (although I did consider it....I must confess). Because of the aforementioned break in ( ) we have had to sort out much work to make the place more secure. And that doesn't come cheap. We have had to borrow money to do it.
I went to Sainsburys and had a chat....I managed to get them to reduce my settlement figure on the old loan by over £200, which ok it isn't a fortune but it all helps doesn't it? I have borrowed an extra £1500 and have taken the loan over 48 months (my previous loan had 44 months left) and I will get two months "holiday" before they start taking repayments back.
I should have money left over after we've paid for all the security stuff and coupled with the loan "holidays" I can throw some money at credit card bills, the OD should be paid off and also I should be able to get my hallway carpeted with an offcut which is something we have wanted to do for 2 years!
So, ok, I'm gutted at having to borrow more money when I had got the loan sub £12k but, such is life, I've done what I had to do with no other option really.
Oh the OH will be going halves on all work carried out and will be giving me extra every month for X amount of months that he can afford which is fine by me as it will be extra money to throw at CC's each month or save if I can move them to another 0% card.
Next week is a new week.........I hope it's a better one.
I will be amending my signature next week anyway when the money goes through...am looking forward to that actually!

Was up at 5 this morning as there was a car alarm going off so went for a run instead of going back to sleep (I gave up trying to get back to sleep)!
Was going to go for a swim later so don't have to do that now. Save a few quid and a few hours as well to do something else0 -
Nothing apart from made some fresh raspberry muffins to take out to my nan's later.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Well I have had a nice long lie in, which is good cos it doesn't give me opportunity to spend money!
I intend to catch up on my washing and housework, not very thrilling but again... no opportunity to spend money.
I have updated my spreadsheets and check bank accounts so that I know where my money is and where it needs to go.
My car insurance is due for renewal at the end of the month. My current provider has given me a quote and it seems quite high. I need to do a search to see if anyone can save me some pennies (preferably via Quidco so that I get some cash back!) In the past, I would have just signed on the dotted line without even thinking about looking elsewhere... this board really has changed my way of thinking!
Last night, I had a bit of a sort out in my wardrobe and found a top that I bought a while back but had not worn as it didn't hang properly and showed off far too much of my lils! So out came the neddle and thread and after a few minor adjustments, I now have a top that I will wear! Again, I wouldn't have thought twice about buying a top on a store card with an APR of 29.9% and never wearing it and then binning it 6 months later! I think I have another top that could do with a few stiches and hey presto... a new top!
Finally, I do need to have a sort out and do some filing of recent letters etc. And get some letters banged out regarding reclaiming bank charges.
And that is my DF saturday...
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -

Today I have been into town, took my 2 year old son with me, had a lovely few hours. Mainly went to put money in the bank. Walked in and home again so saved on bus fare/car parking and got some exercise at the same time. Let my son go on one of the rides in town £1 and we both had a happy meal in Macdonalds £3.98. But made my day when I found a £5 note on the floor in the middle of town. So a fairly good day today so far.

Not doing too badly today. Sent off an item I sold on ebay. My husband bought a mobile phone for my son's birthday this week and it only cost £23 from ebay. Whats more I looked up his old mobile on Envriphone and found it was worth £5. I have therefore traded it in and am waiting for my jiffybag to send it back. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0
