A couple of suggestions - they do not need to know why you were off and you need to ensure that you are seen to be rectifying the situation promptly.
With reference to the above account, I write to explain my current circumstances and hope that you can help me in some way.

At the beginning of this year, I spent over 2 months off work on sick leave. During this time, I took a holiday period from my mortgage as I was not being paid in full.

When I returned to work, I ended my payment holiday and continued as normal. However, I have found it really hard to catch up with things throughout this year and have been struggling more every month.

Because I have other debts from before my illness and with the decrease in my payments during my sickness I have found myself in a bit of a state financially.

I appreciate that I am now 2 months behind with my mortgage payments and feel that I am now in a better position to rectify this situation. I have set up my direct debit for my September payment to come out as usual, meaning I would be behind with July and August.

I would really appreciate if you would allow me to split these payments over the next 4 months and pay along with my normal monthly payment? I enclose a cheque for £xxx to cover the first payment/ Or I have arranged an addtional payment of £xxx this month.

I appreciate that this is a big ask but would really like to rectify this situation so that my credit file or even more my fathers credit file (he is on the mortgage too) is not affected.

    Hi

I appreciate that you have permission to post but that is touting for business.

SNS seem quite capable of sorting this on her own.

  • Hi all
Just thought I would give a little update and also say THANK YOU for all of your help!

I sent my letter to the mortgage company and they called today to say they would accept payment over the new few months...soo relieved!! Ive also sorted my other account and now have a 'bills account' and another account which has 'free' money in which I can use day to day. I have also set up a budget so that I only spend what I have!!!

I feel soo much better already and I spoke to my dad too, he was brilliant and said that i MUST come to him straight away if I struggle again :)

Thank u all soo much for your help, I really appreciate!!

    Best wishes

    SnS xx
