hotel in hammersmith for july

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help. My hubbie is going to Hammersmith in july and needs a hotel near to the hammersmith palais. He is not local to London and doesn't really want to be catching cabs or walking too far late at night. Hope someone can help pref with discount codes! I don't want much do I?

thanks in advance:D

The two closest chains are Holiday Inn Express and Premier Travel Inn - both are on King's Street (aka the High Street) and are about 5/10 mins walk respectively. The Palais is on Shepherds Bush Road next to the busy Hammersmith Gyratory and I've never felt unsafe walking alone there at night.

The other option is privately owned guest houses on SBRoad but the walk is less populated which may be unappealing. I believe most people stay in Earls Court but that's about 5 mins by cab (or Tube before midnight).

Is there anything on either the Palais or Apollo websites for suggested accomodation, as both are popular venues?

    Good Luck

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it was absolutely fine. Fab Weatherspoons next door to it. It also has a private car park although you do have to pay £10 for the privilege.

Hammersmith is not noted for its hotels. As a previous poster stated there are
a couple of places in the same road as the Palais. The Brookgreen hotel
quotes £60 for a saturday night in July and The 65, further up the road quotes £52. [ The chains are £75 and £97 for the same dates]. Whilst the road is not busy pedestrian- wise it is busy traffic-wise and the
police station lies between the Palais and the two hotels so still pretty safe
and less than 10 minute walk to either.
    Paradoxically,
your oh would probably get a better quality hotel cheaper if he went closer
to the centre as the hotel brokers offer better deals there.
