Is there any need for that though? It may have been a genuine accident and they had no idea, or it may have been a kid in the car who did it and the parent had no idea. I don't really think damaging the car back is the way to go.

so a parent who cant operate child locks or genreally doesnt care if the kid damages others property, if they did they would make sure the child gets out without damaging others property.
if it was the driver how would they not know they hadnt damaged the other car? the fact thier door had swung open and hit the other car would be a giveaway.

its happened to me in my car where it was obviously the rear door that hit my passenger door.there was no car next to me when i returned.

the next time it happened i was in my van, brand new silver transit sitting having my lunch in tesco carpark, when i noticed a silver vectra struggling to park next to me, he could have chosen the literally 100 other spaces but he needed the one next to me, he got out on his mobile swung his drivers door off the side of my van, he said he would give me his details when he came back out of the shop, me being reasonable let him go to the shop and waited for his return, one hour later he returned with one pack of sandwiches and a bottle of water (must have been a hard choice) to then deny even damaging my car he said i must have done it! he was of an asian background and if it wasnt for the cctv and multiple witnesses he would have had one on the chin, he refused to give me his details so i called the local police station i was advised as the situation was getting heated to note his reg number and go to thier station, so i did, they had every sympathy with me but after this i heard nothing more about it,even told insurance and they never got back to me.

so revenge seems the simplest method of retribution to me.

There is NEVER an excuse for "dooring" someone elses car. Especially in a situation where the culprit decides on a cramped space between two other cars given the choice of many empty spaces.

Have kids? then park somewhere with spaces either side of you and open the doors yourself.
