Home network problem - help please

Hi
I'm trying to set up a wireless home network between my desktop and netbook (both running XP) so that I can make use of the new Home Sharing facility in itunes 9.
I've never set-up a network before so went through the set-up wizards and it all seemed to work fine - the network shows up in the my network places area on my desktop and my desktop can access the files on the shared area of my netbook.
However - the network doesn't show up on my netbook and it can't access the files on my desktop (which unfortunately is where my itunes library is!)
I assume they must both be connected to the network otherwise how is my desktop accessing my netbook but I can't figure out why it doesn't show up on the netbook and why the access won't go the other way?
Can anyone help?

Find your itunes folder, right click and enable folder sharing. That should do it.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0
