Asda Smartprice Vs Tesco Value

Hello!
In my challenge to be debt free i'm cutting back on spending that I can easily control, shopping being one of them, I admittedly became a bit of a snob and bought brands only so I've decided to do next months shop buying only Basic ranges for food and cleaning products - my question is how does everyone rate the basic ranges - are you a smartprice or a value fan? i'm leaning towards tesco purely because I have a clubcard but what does everybody think?

i just love Sainsbury's basics!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0

Given the value ranges out of the main supermarkets then I'd agree that Sainsbury's is better.
Aldi is better than all in my book tho if you can get there.0 -

I agree. Most of sainsbury's basics taste much nicer than the others, even if the price is similar. I don't think I've bought any of their basic range that I haven't liked.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

As the other posters have said Sainsbury value range is the best. With Tesco it is a bit hit or miss, you will just have to try the value brand and see if you like it or are willing to compromise on taste. The Tesco value spaghetti is probably the only thing I buy from the value range. However in Sainsbury's I will buy just about any of their value products.I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Sainsbury's do brilliant basics biscuits, canned fruit and juice just as 3 examples, but all other basics products are really nice too. Would take them over Tesco's any time.
