Yesterday evening, as I was taking the recycling out, I just decided to go for a walk - through a tiny little nature reserve to an old fashioned English village, round the green and back to my house by another route - I came across the third set of allotments I've found here, as well - the allotments are all beautiful, very well tended, lots of freshly dug soil, maturing crops, bits put by to recycle, all sorts of things, it was amazing. And the sky was gorgeous - a clump of cloud with its underside turned practically barbie pink by the setting sun. Glorious.

We ask ourselves what the clouds taste like (what flavour they would be - yours' sound like strawberry) when they are that colour - how wonderful!

Love the ducks sitting around preening themselves.

Garden sounds - quite full!!! Wish I was nearer happily help dig out things and lend a hand to move things about!

KC - how about we team up and bribe Fay to come down and sort out our gardens, do you fancy a week in our beautiful part of the world sometime? :)

I've got as far as moving my green bin from the driveway (though the weeds) to the garden where it will make me feel guilty all weekend as I studiously try to ignore it......!!

KK, thats a great idea. And we should meet up too now, I've found out there's a bus that goes directly from your town to my town, and vice versa. Transport in the other place was always such a pain for me. I'd love to see your garden (before Fay gets her mitts on it!)

Well, I rediscovered the book I promised you aaaaages ago, the Barbara Kingsolver one, so yay to watching you being eaten by the triffids in the garden soon :)

Actually, I'm planning on dragging DD to the Dome tomorrow for the veggie/vegan exhibition; if you're free, come and join us (can't remember if I've read you're veggie or even guess if this is remotely interesting to you!!) http://www.viva.org.uk/roadshows2010/brighton.html

It is really sounding fab, you just can't beat an old fashioned duck pond in a village. Sounds like you will enjoy your walks round there x

Ooh Fay! It would be a bit too epic in Darwin, surely - but we can do something, for sure - Kk and me are so close together geographically. We *must* meet up by then :o

Excellent! Yay to books on loan and not bought! I've just managed to collect one bag of triffid limbs, so thats not bad - I want to fill the bin each time it goes (not the green bin, sadly - that costs money :o) but when its more or less in order, I'll start the compost bin again.

Tomorrow! Gosh - I've been veggie for over 25 years, tbh - and I'm hoping to be able to go to an eco house thats open in mid Sussex (Hassocks) over the weekend - tho you're supposed to ring first, and I haven't done that yet. And I need to do that kitchen wall first :o And I need to go to Focus DIY in Burgess Hill :o I don't think I can get to the Dome tomorrow :(

Oh well, we can find something at a little further distance in time....

Yep, the walks are brilliant! There's all sorts of footpaths here and there in amongst the houses too, because I think the original market town was quite old :)

That English village actually has a duckpond, which only has a road on one side, the other is a little footpath. You can get really close to the ducks, and when you do, you find that lots of them are standing on bricks that have been put there on purpose

God, that sounds really rough. It's only cars round here that end up on bricks...
