Thats it, absolutely - life can feel very overwhelming without a list, with all the things we [strike]try to[/strike] accomplish.

I did pipe up to you, honest, Shaun :grouphug: I'm not very good with words in some ways - sorry :grouphug:

    :o:o:o

I'm also :eek::eek: at the moment - my brother's youngest son works in a travel agency in London, and he phoned up half an hour ago, on the way to the town I live in, wanting to bring his girlfriend for lunch :eek::eek: This has never happened before! He's really lucky I'd just had a supermarket delivery, otherwise there wouldn't be enough in the house for 3 people! Pasta with frozen spinach stirred in, a packet of quorn, some feta cheese, some pesto, some tomato sauce, some mayo, a salad. Thats it! And I don't have any milk, I don't use it at all these days  oh well. Better shut the lappie down now - the cable trails across the entrance to the living room, its dangerous for newcomers. What have I let myself in for by agreeing

Yep, so much for a quiet day - but it was lovely! She's only been in England just over a year, and what she makes of his scouse sense of humour is anyone's guess, but she seems to like it. They've gone off for a walk now, and I am unbelievably proud to have acquitted myself as a grownup, able to put eatable food on the table, lol - crazy I know, but there you go, not something I'm used to doing.

I'm going to have some chocolate soon :D

  • And so you should be because if someone called at last minute and said they were popping round to mine for lunch there would be a lot of :eek::eek: and lots of :o:o:o at the thought of someone seeing my house without having time for a panic clean and a food shop etc so then there would be more :eek: and my mind would be working over time looking for a feasable excuse to cry off/say I was out/ill etc etc :o:o:o which just shows I need to get a grip of my ability to have a guest ready house and acceptable/useable amounts of food in at all times :p

Thats exactly how I was :) and even as my mouth was saying "yes of course" my brain was saying "no, I don't want you here", just because of shame. I don't give in to that so often nowadays, and I'm determined I'll do it less and less.

Luckily, I'd underestimated the amount of food I needed till I move, so I had a supermarket delivery on Tuesday. And I was thinking this week how horrible the place was with half a dozen half packed boxes everywhere, so I'd been tidying up on Friday - result!

Right - Top Gear is on in ten minutes, and I need a cuppa tea. Have a lovely evening! The lappie is finally shutting down again.

Cooeee KC! What a lovely day, and well done on the meal.

I've just caught up again. We had my neice's wedding yesterday, lots of happy tears, a beautiful bride, her new hubby is just totally smitten, his speech was so loving, and when they stood at the front of the church and said their vows, you could just feel the love in the air :smileyhea
