what to do in manchester on a sunday afternoon?

hi,

we are travelling down to manchester to see the bruce springsteen concert on sunday and plan to arrive early afternoon. can anyone please suggest something to do there apart from going to the trafford centre shops?

also any suggestions on the best place to park for a quick exit from the men arena area would be much appreciated.

    the art gallery, nice little cafe there

    urbis should be open

    if you dont want city centre you could go off to Dunham massey for a wander (near altrincham off M6), find a nice pub for lunch around there

    if you need to get a quick get away park a couple of tram stops away and get a tram, or look for some side streets perhaps off oldham road dont know what the traffic will be like though as i always get tram.
