The laws are changing sometime this year, probably around July so you can get divorced with one years seperation with consent and 2 years without. My brother is in the middle of this right now, his 5yr seperation is up in July and his ex will definately contest it so by the time the law changes his 5yrs will already be up. His lawyer said that the law has been changed but they still don't know the exact date that the new laws come in to force so it might be best to sit it out a couple of months till the law changes.0

I think you will find that change in the law is only relevant to Scotland.
It doesn't matter in this case anyway as the two years are up on Tuesday.0
