Service Station Parking!
pop-tart
I was recently driving back from Wales, and stopped at a service station late at night, about midnight and used the services, WHSmiths/etc, I got back to my car and fell asleep, waking about 5ish and then left.
A couple of days ago I got a notice saying I had over stayed my welcome and ordering me to pay £50 within the next 14/28 days. apparently they have cctv footage of me entering/leaving! I don't recall seeing ay signs, but a friend has since stopped there and seen signs, which I have also since noticed at other services...
Do I just ignore this???

Ignoring it sounds like a plan

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
It should require just one guess.0

Bloody cheek. The government suggests taking a break. You do, and get invoiced for the privilege.

Recently passed the same services, so stopped to check the signage, it is there, bottom of the signs are over 8ft from the ground, nothing that you are going to notice at 12:30 at night, in the semi dark and tired! No signs within the service building, and nothing on the way out!
I've taken photos, showing this, should anything come of it, but just keeping quite at the moment, I'm away for the next month or so anyway...
I have however received a letter from their "solicitors" today, demanding payment, plus a collection fee... or I will receive a court date... I look forward to that!0
