My (little) Story

I wanted to pay all my debts but strangely the bank and the numerous other financial institutions didn't seem to want my money, well not unless it had a good few pints of blood and half a limb attached.
I feel in some part that I was pushed into bankruptcy by the very companies I owe money to, all but one refused every offer and solution I came up with until I had nowhere to go but the direction of the county courts.
Today I arrived at court at 9.20 shaking like a leaf and ready to decorate the place in a beautiful shade of vomit. First I saw a very pleasant clerk who went through my - and I quote - 'perfect forms' (thanks to you wonderful people), after I signed them all, I swore the oath and paid up my money. The clerk then went off for 10 minutes or so to make up the file and then took me to another waiting room. Not much later I was called in to see the judge, who turned out to be not at all judgemental and suprisingly very sweet. He actually sympathised with my 'plight' and commented that he could see I had made every effort to pay, he then looked at the clock and declared me bankrupt at 10.05.
I was then sent back down to the clerk who filled in more paperwork and took me into her office to have a brief conversation with the OR on the phone. OR checked my name and address details and asked if I had a bank account I needed to continue using, I told her about the co-op account I had opened (again following the good advice on here) she said I could continue using it and she would write to the bank declaring no interest in it. The clerk then gave me my paperwork, she even made me 4 extra copies of the bankruptcy order, and wished me good luck.
All in all the process took 1 hour and 10 minutes. I hope this helps to put some peoples mind at ease who are yet to attend court.

Worriedsik... I know I was thinking about it all yesterday and how if you turn the number upside down you get 666, I nearly managed to convince myself it was a bad omen and not to go!! Luckily my sanity resurfaced just in time Xx0
