Does anybody have any idea whether this is possible? Older dvd player to lcd monitor specifically.
Reason being we have binned the t.v. (and license) but would still like to use dvd s without the laptop being on.
Thanks for any ideas
Bruce

hmm was just reading the reviews
dont think it fits your purposeGAT says:
Mr Green,
Unfortunately this will not work for your intended purpose. Quoting from somewhere else for a similar product - "Suitable to connect a DVD player, etc with RGB out to a Projector with 15-pin VGA Male Input".
To connect PC to TV, what you need is something like these (or similar):
PC to TV Video Kit SCART & SVHS cable, Phono Leads 10m - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Video-SCART-cable-Phono-Leads/dp/B000Q8L63Q
Belkin PC-DVD to TV Cable Kit, with S-Video Cable & Scart Adapter 10m - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-PC-DVD-Cable-S-Video-Adapter/dp/B0002IA1X6/
A popular auction site also has the above cables.
Some LCD TVs these days come with the appropriate connection to connect to a PC. If the above cable-adaptor set doesn't give you satisfactory results (it has rarely done for me) on your present TV, it may be advisable to abandon the idea or get a TV with a dedicated PC connection.
Hope this helps :-)0 -
You didn't need to bin the TV to get rid of the license you just need to not "watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV"0

If you do keep a TV then you got to make sure your ariels and cable is nowhere near the TV and preferably removed or unusable.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740
