A and L Travel Ins - Look out

I have recently booked a holiday and called Fortis (AandL's insurance partner) to investigate my travel insurance (having had nothing back from Alliance and Leicester when I applied in Nov 05).

Fortis had no record of my details and as a result I was not insured! I urge all AandL customers to check that Fortis have their records - especially before travelling. If Fortis don't have your records you need to get onto AandL to "resend" the details.

Well, did you get charged for it? Or is it free with your account?
You have no documentation or anything?
It's something that should be chased up soon after you apply for it. Don't wait till you are just about to go on holiday :)

I have had the Free A&L Travel Insurance for several years and always get the renewal documents a couple of weeks before the renewal date.
