Most of the websites like the BBC etc try to block you and stop you viewing unless you watch from within the UK. I think it all has to do with copyright.
I have sent you a PM to tell you how to view from abroad.0 -

Don't ever pay for these proxy sites, easy enough to do it yourself for free.0

Agreed - if you are a bit of a techie (like I am). I have my own proxy server at home and use it to access BBC iPlayer content which is specifically blocked from non UK IP addresses. The bandwidtch isn't always enough to watch live, but I generally pick a few programs to download overight & watch them the following dayChris Elvin0 -

Having your own Proxy Server Hardware Equipment at home sounds expensive and fairly technical to recently the UK TV Stations have been making it much more difficult
to connect to there services from overseas,By the way is it possible to watch Channel 4 Catch Up and 4OD services? from your Proxy?

A proxy isn't neccessarily separate hardware - your own PC can be turned in to a free proxy server through software. To the provider, the content will appear to be downloading to your (uk based) proxy server (or my old desktop PC as I like to call it). All this does, is then forward this information on to your laptop whereever you are in the world. Will work with iplayer and 4od. The only limitation, as someone pointed out above, is the upload speed of your proxy server. You may have 8mb broadband at home, but the upload speed will be a fraction of that and might not be able to provide enough bandwidth to watch 'live' TV.0
