Ikea Warranty

Evening oh great wise ones...
the chap who fitted our bedroom did such a fantasic job that we asked him to fit our kitchen. we picked what we wanted, he gave us a quote, we gave him the cash, he collected the items and he fitted them beautifully.
6 months on, our dishwasher has died. Ikea have a five year warranty, which is great, but they have asked for proof of purchase. we dont have that as the fitter didnt invoice us for it or give us the reciept.
where do i stand with the repair? Ikea have booked an engineer to call within 48 hours, at a time to suit, (fantastic customer service so far) but we only have the warranty book, not any proof of purchase.
any advice gratefully received.

Is that because i've essentially purchased from the fitter, not ikea?0 -
