Hi, i am new so please be gentle.
i have begun to claim back the PPI on all the loans we have had over the years, received letters back from HSBC and Abbey staing they will investigate and i should have a response within 8 weeks. cross fingers!!
recieved a letter from the bank of scotland who were behind my AA loan (I did not know this as I addressed the letter to centrica finance). any way they have asked me to ring them as I provided them with insufficient information in the letter.
my concern is that I am not good over the phone and i worry that i may say the wrong thing.
should i be concerned? should I ring them or just send another letter?

I would certainly keep everything in writing as they can twist what you say etc. Just state that you reiterate your complaint and if they can write and request any further information (only giving them the original 8 weeks for a full and final response) you will be glad to assist.

Thanks for that, I have been agonising over it for a couple of days. I have drafted a letter and will post it tomorrow.
hopefully I will receive a response soon.

I have recieved a reply and they have found in my favour. hoorah. they said they would write to me to advise of the amount but because of the postal strike i have not recieved the letter. i will post back when i know the full value of the refund. thanks for your advise on this, i wouldnt have got anywhere without it.
also on a seperate note Abbey have written to my husband and told him he will be refunded 2.5K approx for his PPI on his loan and that was just from one letter. hoorah hoorah.
Just need to persuade HSBC now as they have refused my claim but i will write back to them shortly and keep the claim going.
