how to get a google map link

I'd like some help please. When I search on google, particularly for services of some sort or other, eg plumber in harrow, electrician in ealing I get results at the very top called Local Business results for ........ (whatever I searched for)


My question is, how do I get my business listed at the top? ie Listing A, listing B etc etc.

Thanks very much for any help.

Google must have it's own way of spreading the listings around and not favouring Acme. Co.
And it may be the exact way you search - which you did not reveal to us...

How do I get placed at the top there? I chose that example because I want to promote my business offering gas safety certificates and EPC's.

Google probably used postcodes and the business that gave the closest postcode to the centre of Harrow got to the top. You can verify this by checking each business's exact postcode location on the map.

[ edit ] but I just checked a business that I registered on Google Local Business (maps) some months ago as webmaster for a B&B owner. The Google Maps search for "B&B in Beijing" put us at number 1 against this search but the postcode was not at the centre of Beijing. So I now suspect that it is because the Google Pagerank of this B&B's web page against these keywords is very high.
