Hi All,
I am having my hotmail and facebook accounts constantly hacked. Every
time I go to log in, someone has changed the password. I reset it and then a few days later its changed again!!
I have contacted hotmail who asked me to change security questions etc, which I have done, but it still keeps happening. Has anyone any advice on what I should do next? Microsoft tell they can't disclose information on who this maybe with out a warrant - so I assume I should go to the police??
Thanks in advance

I know its a pain, but I would open a new hotmail address - or even a yahoo account, and change the e-mail address linked to facebook to the new one.
Use completely new passwords and security info.
I had a similar problem with hotmail/e-bay and that is how I solved it.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
How do you know someone is hacking your account?
If they have changed the password how do you manage to log back on and change it again without knowing the new password?
I can't log onto my facebook as it keeps telling me to enable my cookies all of a sudden...when they are already enabled.
I don't know if it is a virus or something.
Meh! Technology!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
Are u sure its not someone who can easily answer ur security questions doing this to you?0

Thanks for all you replies. Well im not sure if someone is hacking into my accounts, this is an assumption I have made. Not very good with technology and the correct terms!! I reset my password on hotmail by answering my security question and typing in a new password (i have changed the security question a few times) the answers I set are nothing to do with question if that makes sense. So no one, even if they know me could guess answer.
I then log into facebook and get my new reset code passed sent to there. Would it be possible to block or trace who maybe doing this?0 -
You need to somehow make sure that it is a hacker and not just some problem with your computer/browser or even a virus.
Have you asked on some Tech/ computer websites? I always get good help there...even if i do have to ask them to explain it in simple terms!!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
Have you scanned for Keyloggers , and other viruses?Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

do the following and post the log for me
Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.- Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
- Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
- When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
- Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Then click Finish.
- MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
- On the Scanner tab:
- Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
- Then click on the Scan button.
- If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
- The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
- When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
- Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
- Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
- Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
- The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
- Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.

There has been a virus circulating on FB this week through an app called FanCheck....it makes you think that you're checking who's your biggest "fan" by how many times they interact with your profile....apparently within 48 hours your FB account is hacked and it screws up the email account linked to it.
So....if you've been tagged in someone's fancheck or even have installed it yourself...there might be the problem.;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -

Just to confirm - this isn't actually the case.
A rumour has been started that FanCheck is a virus in a bid to get people googling for solutions and hence direct them to malware ridden sites.0 -
