Who pays and organises bills/paperwork - me
who has main care of kids - me
who decides which dinner to makes makes it - me
who does the dishes - me
as well as the washing, drying, ironing, dusting, cleaning, hoovering, mopping, sorting, organising, bathing, dressing, feeding, changing, taxi-ing, homeworking, bed making, clothes putting awaying, shopping.....have i forgotten anything???
As far as being organised goes i tend to do the little jobs daily (washing, hoovering etc) and the big jobs (kitchen/bathrrom/ironing) once a week.
I might sort out some kind of rota too as i like to feel like things are under controlMANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

In our house i do all the cleaning - I sweep, polish and generally tidy every day, mop every other day. Windows get cleaned once a week, Stairs and upstairs get hoovered at the weekend. Beds are made daily and bedding washed at the weekend. My washer is on constantly (have toddler) and i iron daily. My DD is only allowed one toy out, when she has finished playing with it she is told to put it away before getting another toy out. I pay the bills every month on or around the 28th. My OH's wages go into our joint account monthly on 25th without fail which pay the bills and my weekly wage is our "living allowence" we keep an up to date shopping list so we dont buy rubbish we dont need. DD has regular bedtime at 8pm, at around 9pm i do most of my tidying (sweep and mop etc down stairs) so that it is nice and tidy for when DD gets up. When i know im going to be rushed for time in the morning i get everything ready for brekkie (put cereal in bowls, get coffee in cups etc)
Im so organised ive brought most of my xmas pressies already lol Just started looking for DDs halloween costume too
It did take me a while to get into a routine, me and OH used to argue about tidying etc.
his chores are:
Empty kitchen bin
Take wheelie bin outside (i bring it in and wash it out and replace bag)
Pick up any dog mess from our jack russell
clean the toilet
clean any pots that get really greasy (such as grill when we've had bacon - i cant stand touching grease!)
occasionally he makes dinner and does that pots - im a rubbish cook!
hope that helps!0 -
I'm over organized i think...
However, my excuse is as a newly qualified teacher, cat and boyfriend i have alot to cram into not alot of time!
Most days i'm at work by 8am latest. Once i get home its shower first, school work, tea, bit more school work, tele if time then bed. I do shopping sometimes on a Friday night or a sunday. Sunday is for tidying the house and cleaning bathroom every other week, as only me here!
I see my boyfriend once during the week, as he sometimes goes away but i do see him alot at the wkends.
I am known for my organization hahaha0 -
IMO life's too short to run your house like a military operation.
Rooms get cleaned when they need to be. We're not that dirty a family that I need to be drawing up a routine! I've also got a pretty big house - I'd be cleaning non stop if I started a system - which I'm certainly not going to do.
I go through everything usually once a week (obviously kitchen and bathrooms more often). As long as my floors/carpets are clean/tidy, I'm generally happy.
This is family home - not a show home. It's there to be lived in, not fanatically cleaned to within an inch of its life (and personally I've got better things to be doing with my time anyway - like playing with my children before they all grow up!).
My house is clean, although it can often be untidy......it's a place used for entertaining, playing and living in.
Dinner is family focussed - the kids generally help me make it and OH generally cleans afterwards. I'll usually choose what we're having that evening and just get on with it."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
When my 3 were young I used to hoover and polish etc right through twice a week, clean my windows and wash nets (don't have them anymore!) every 6 weeks. Have always done the ironing once a week.
Now I hoover right through once a week, sweep downstairs daily (laminate) and clean windows when I think they need it!
I do have set days for changing the beds otherwise I would forget!!
I organise and pay all the bills and oversee all the banking and household finances. I like to be in control!
My oh does the mowing of the lawn and all the diy (he is a builder!) I do all the food shopping and cooking, although oh does cook sometimes and usually makes me poached egg on toast for breakfast at the weekends!0 -
I think it depends on how many are in your household and how houseproud you are - I am discplined to the point of analness, I have just started college and work part-time and I have worked out a very precise schedule for myself, to the extent that I have allocated time for walking the dog, dealing with paperwork, housework, etc. However I live on my own with the dog and have no one to consider but myself! I am also very houseproud and clean my little cottage on a Friday night, I have a set time for dealing with paperwork, I hate shopping so don't have to make time for that, and I don't watch TV so that doesn't come into my timetable!
Can I say my brother has 2 kids and he is worse than me with regards to his rota!
It depends on the person, I love my regimented life, it makes me extremely disciplined, I never have any chores left undone, but some may say that I don't have any fun either - my downtime is an hour on the PC each night although most of that time is researching for my courses, however I pop into the occasional fun site such as this when I've studied enough - and it's my birthday today so I've had a whole evening of downtime!0 -
I tried a house cleaning routine but found I was bored to tears with it. I prefer a room to get into a tip and clean it then - far more satisfying lol. My Nan and Mum have always said that as long as your sinks and toilets are clean that is the main thing. I have three kiddies all of which undo my hard work behind me within about 10 seconds flat.0

I do general tidying, cleaning floors and one load of washing every day, ironing once a week and in between eveything else. I write a list on a Monday of other stuff that needs to be done and just do it as and when I can.
I down tools from 8pm though and relax (my time!)- if it aint an emergency, it's not getting done!!Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. thanks guys thats given me a bit of insight into your ways...forgot to add that in my house it is also chaos, that's because I do eveything as we've 3 kids and OH works away, hence the reason im posting to try and find a balance b etween kids/fun and house/gotta be done. generally im only doing it at the moment if its screaming clean me/tidy me, not daily as a lot of it prob should be...although my daily tasks are: kids fed and watered, school runs, after school taxi, pack lunch maker, dinner and supper maker, washer, dishwasher, (baby) bottle washer/maker, general tidy upper, home work doer on and on and on xx0
