Argh, please convince me to get rid of stuff to pay off debt :(

I had convinced myself to get rid of some Karen Millen clothes on eBay and put the money towards my debt but now that I'm actually back home and looking through the stuff I'm hesitating because I don't really want to get rid of them :(

But... I don't need them. It's shirts and skirts and I haven't worn any of them for TWO YEARS. Yes really. I bought them (secondhand but thet're in excellent condition) when I had a job that I needed to look smart for, I no longer have a job like that and never will so I really should get rid. We really do need to have a good clear out anyway as we have too much stuff.

Please just tell me to sell them. I do love them but it's such a waste when I don't wear them and I have debt to pay off.

    Sell them!!!!

    Double edged sword - more space + less debt! Winner on all fronts!
    start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
    end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
    I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!
  • If you are struggling to do it perhaps sell 1 item at a time . I think you will find as soon as you start it will get easier and when you see the money coming in and paying it off your bills/debts it will give you a bit more confidence that what you are doing is the right thing. If you really don't need them just do it!

    Absolutely! This is what I keep telling myself.

    Well, I managed to bring them downstairs at least. Now for the photographs... (and a nice cup of tea).
  • Definitely sell them - I'm selling off anything and everything decent in the house, I don't have any designer clothes or bags though which is a shame!

  • I know exactly how you feel, I too found it difficult at first to sell some of my clothes even though they sat in the wardrobe and I never wore them but once I saw how much I could get for them on e-bay and how it helped me to cover some of my debts my attitude changed although I do admit to keeping some of the photo's of the nicer things:rotfl:Since April I have made over £1000!!!!!!
  • Thanks again all.

    Ellieseleven - 1k is fab! It's seeing how much some of this stuff goes for that convinced me, it could really make a difference to our situation.

    Plan has been slightly thwarted because H seems to have done something to the camera settings and I can't figure out what. And he's not in to fix it :mad: I can still write the listings though so no excuses! :rotfl:
  • hi, firstly if you havet worn them in 2 years its unlikely you will ever wear them. get rid cash in and then when debts cleared - treat yourself to a new KM piece xxxx
