  • Popped into my local M&S today. Their vegetable selction was really poor, only consisting of potatoes (new potatoes, chunky chips, thin chips & mash).

    What was the 6.49 wine?

I much prefer the raw chickens, as I can then flavour them as I like :) Haven't bought the deal when it's been ready-cooked ones.
  • Bought 2 meal deals...with 3 children didnt get a look in:

The Cook Menu Beef Meatballs with Tomato and Provolone Cheese
    Fish and Chips
    House Salad Bowl
Ciabatta with Garlic & Parsley Butter
    2 Pot au Chocolats
Kentish Bramley Apple Puff Pastry Pie
2 bottles of Le Froglet (not tasted that yet lol)

Possibly the Gold Label Merlot? That's what we got (x2) along with

Oakham Chicken (£6.36 was biggest we could find)
    Moussaka
    Garlic Ciabatta
    Parmentier Potatoes
    Apple Pie
    Creme Brulee

    Great value for £20

The chickens are raw and only had small ones (£3-£4) in our M&S :(.

Here's one to look out for next time. In my local store all the chickens on the promo stand were labelled small and were around the £3.40 mark. I didn't bother with it. On the way out, I remember walking past the regular chicken section and thinking I might try and nab a bigger one and trying to sneak it through, but thought better of it (assuming that the promo was for ones labelled small). It's only coming back and checking this thread that I see the offer is for medium ones.

That's a bit cheeky isn't it? They had plenty of medium ones left on the regular poultry stand but they had filled the promo stand up with small ones rather than the advertised medium ones. Bad M&S.

All the ones in my local M&S were medium and none under £5.
I got a £7.02 once so quite happy.
