Grrrr, laptop keyboard

It keeps missing letters out unless I really press down hard on each one. It never used to do this, its a ony ( -see, I typed SONY-) Vaio. Sometimes, whole words are missing.

It's filthy and sticky. You are guilty of keyboard abuse.
If you have one, you can always just plug in a proper keyboard.

It's not too hard to remove a keyboard and give it a good blow through for grime/dust. Google or youtube for how to do it. In the meantime Start > Accessories > Accessibility > Virtual Keyboard (XP)

My laptop is 6 weeks old so shouldn't have keyboard buttons failing yet. You still haven't explained my spelling and grammar.

    Sorry Katy.

Try to clean the keyboard as suggested. If it is still the same you can either have it replaced or buy a USB or wireless keyboard and plug it in.
