Amazon.co.uk closed my account for no reason

There was a thread a while back where a bloke/or woman can't remember which had their account cancelled by Amazon and it turned out they had returned a lot of stuff for various reasons.
I like Amazon.
Just get a mate to order stuff for you.0 -
I'm sure the OP realises all that. I too would be furious and want to get to the bottom of it.
I am an Amazon fan (as I imagine the OP was) but they they are basically saying:- "you are a lying thieving scumbag"!
Keep at it OP if you have the energy.
Good luck
No, that's not what Amazon said. I also am an Amazon fan, although sometimes I get exasperated with them. But I don't think it's fair to attribute words to them that they haven't used.
According to the quote in the OP's post. Amazon said "We have found your account is directly related to another which has been previously closed for abuse of our policies."
Maybe the OP's account got hacked by the person whose account has been "previously closed". Or maybe it's just a mistake. Whichever -- if Amazon decides under those circumstances to close a customer's account rather than spend time and money investigating it further, they're within their rights to do so.0 -
I know that they're within their rights, but it doesn't change the fact that to my knowledge I have done nothing wrong which is stupidly frustrating. I've never even returned anything to amazon so sending too much stuff back can't be the reason. I too have always been a fan of amazon, hence my drive to get the bottom of this, although their customer service when things go wrong leaves a lot to be desired.
I've been in touch with trading standards and they advised me to complain to amazon again. Although there's nothing I can do if they still refuse to reopen my account, if enough people have had a similar experience and suffered such bad customer service then trading standards will get involved. It would be nice if I could actually speak to a human about this at amazon! I just hope someone with some sense and understanding will deal with my issue.0
