The whole process is relatively easy if you know where to go....Th pump is the most likely item to be blocked (in my case the stone of a date....) The repairman removed the bottom cover underneath the door then squeezed his fat hand inside the gap to undo the 2 clips holding the rubber pipes to the pump ( a small black plastic item). Got the pump out, quaeter turn to undo the logs to open said pump in half, remove stone.....and all back together. I know where to look next time.

Just incase anyone else comes across this problem here is my experience.

My dishwasher was full of water yesterday morning when I opened it. When my husband come home from work he took the waste pipe off, which was full of water, and drained it. There was no blockage to be found. It turned out that I had opened the dishwasher before it had finished its cycle. It was in the drying stage and does not drain until after that. I was just glad we didn't have to call anyone out over it :o. We have only had the dishwasher 3 months.

Has the flood prevention kicked in and left the motor running? that's what happens to my aeg when there is water in the bottom. I've had loads of problems its very sensitive and even a kink in the pipes can cause it to kick in. The last time I had a leak in the sump which was sorted by screwing up the screws tighter as they had come lose and caused it to leak.

Try turning the machine off at mains and drying out the part underneath the machine with towels. It may work ok again.
I hate to drag something up out of the depths but always useful to have additional information on these sorts of threads.

Last night we had the above problem with our AEG diswasher, it stopped with error code 30 flashing and the pump constantly running. After emptying it of dishes I tried running it through a short cycle but it stopped right at the beginning, again with error code 30 and not even powering the machine off and on at the mains would clear it.

Thanks to the above post I removed the front cover at the bottom of the machine and lo and behold there was quite a lot of water sitting in the 'sump' (I hesitate to call it that because of all the wiring under there too). I tipped the machine up to drain it out and left it propped downwards a bit for a while by using a bit of wood under the back of the machine. Dried what water was left in the sump as best as I could with a towel after which it successfully ran through a 15 min rinse cycle with no obvious water build-up down below.

Not sure quite why so much water got down there in the first place, whether it built up over time (we've had the machine around 4 years) or just on the last cycle. It's working again for now at least. I'll need to keep an eye on it to see if it re-occurs, and if so see if I can find where the leak is.

    Hi

<snip> ours had non standard screws with a funny name that I cant remember.

Those are likely "Torx" screws - Sears, Home Depot, etc. will be sure to have the size you need.

    Hi All,
Here's another one that may help someone. Our dishwasher was full of water and wouldn't drain - tried all above but no luck. After isolating water & electrics accessing drain pump (easy if you learn tools) found that the pump stopped working when it got hot (from the hot drain-water). It was OK when water cooled. Anyway, new pump search involved avoiding a site that wanted 85 quid for one! Got one on Amazon - through a uk site called 'asuds' for £10!! Easy enough to fit back on. Dishwasher was out of service for only a short time. Hope this helps someone.
