Permanent Hair Removal

Or Reduction - as they like to term it
My friend has asked me for advice on permanent hair removal, but I'm not really up on prices or techniques. I've found out that Saks are running a one day promotion on 11 May whereby you get 50% off any hair removal treatments purchased on that day (can be taken at any time). They use a system called Ellipse. On the face of it, seems like a good deal but wondered if the original costs had been inflated. Has anybody had permanent hair removal, if so what system, was if effective and what did it cost? They are quoting ball park figures of £270 underarm, or bikini and underarm £495 (this is the 50% off price).
Any sensible! advice wouild be appreciated. lol

one of our local hospitals has lasercare for removal of allsorts including birthmarks/ hair/non surgical face lifts etc. Apparantly it is nationwide. they are quite expensive for treatment but cheap overall in the long run (if you get my drift).
one of the GPs i work with occasionally, couldnt praise lasercare enough after he referred a few patients for treatments. as far as he (the GP) was concerned Lasercare was the Dogs etc.Give blood - its free0
