tesco delivery replacement goods

Has anyone noticed that everytime the wine festival on your wine is always substituted or is it just me? There might be a really good deal on wine and they don't have it so they send me something like 2 bottles at a fiver each instead of 2 for a tenner. I know i could say no to substitutions but i don't have a problem with other subs only the wine. Do Tesco operate a smiley system whereby you can get the offer if they don't have it this time (like asda)?

This is what Tescos did to me yesterday! Ordered over £30 worth of groceries and 18 pack of Becks - to get the case at £5 WYS £30.
They subsituted the 18 pack Becks for 10 cans of Becks for £6. Therefore less beer for more money and no promotion! The driver tried to convince me it was almost the same. I sent the cans back.
So when I called Tesco Online CS they told me to order another £30 of groceries  and try again! I tried to argue the point that the promotion was still valid and that I had spent the required minimum and that did they not offer some sort of 'rain check' coupon or similar. He said no. I did get a e-voucher for £5.
He did say that if I had kept the 10 cans then he could of refunded me for them. At the time of delivery I presumed if subsitutes were accepted then they had to be paid for. I know now what to do next time!
So what I did last night, was use the e-voucher for £5 and the code for £5 of Becks case and booked a delivery slot at £4! Tada! Becks case at my door for £4.00 in total! Do you think I will get my Becks delivery tonight!??I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. well my delivery arrives tonight and i ordered about 20 bottles of wolf blass at 3 quid each (bargain). I will almost lay my life on the line and bet that they are substituted so should i accept them and then try for a refund? Once before when they were doing hardys crest for 2.99 I order 2 crates and my mum took in the order. I rang to complain as my mum did not know that the stuff been subbed was more pricey as the driver didn't tell her. They refunded the difference. Let you know tonight by 8 what happens. Who was to place a bet?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

Wish i had known that code yesterdaySmile though your bank is breaking:)0 -
Apparently the 'code' for £5 Becks case and the £5 WYS £30 are two different offers for the same item. The WYS £30 expires on the 13th and the 'code' expires on the 16th (one code use per customer).
Not sure whether you should accept the wine if they substitute. If you do accept it just phone Tescos up and complain (in a very sweet voice!). Apparently it is up to the CS whether they will refund you. The man I spoke to says that most of them will. But I guess you will need to take a gamble that it will work in your favour.
Now Tescos are giving the substitute at the same price as the ordered item, if the sub is more expensive.I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. In theory, yes. I guess it depends what price is shown on the order, whether the 2.99 is reflected in the unit price or whether the deduction is taken off in the savings at the end of the order IYSWIM. But if they substitute for bottles that are cheaper than the original price ones you ordered then the savings will not be as good.
In the Becks case, the price showed up as £10 not £5 because the promotional price would have been shown after the total is calculated.
You will just have to look at your order receipt when your delivery arrives and make a decision then whether to accept it or not.I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. well got all my wine and no subs and the driver confirmed the price watch info - I take it all back. Since you have to book 5 days in advance to get a slot on my local asda, Tesco will get all my business - no wonder they make soooo much money. Thanks everyone for your advice now we can all go and get nicely drunk!Smile though your bank is breaking:)0
