I have just won over £1300.00 the full amount i tried to reclaim from Alliance and Leicester commercial bank as a business customer for overdraft charges, i understand that business accounts are not subject to the 'on hold' policy of personal accounts. However i did not manage to do this without help, i used a company called Wade and Co who charges a no win no fee policy, they actually had to do a letter to the Financial Ombudsman and in all it has taken around 6 months. They charge a fee of 25% only if successful.
wadeandco.co.uk if your a trading as business or a ltd buisness feel free to give it a go.

Did you receive £1300 inclusive or exclusive of the 25% claim?
On what basis did they argue the view at the FOS since they do not deal with bank charges complaints unless people are in financial hardship which does NOT include business?0 -
i received a total of just over £1300.00 in charges with the bank, so that is the claim i made via the company mentioned. I got a full offer and have to pay the 25% from the amount i recieved, which still leaves me with over £900.00 pounds. Not sure what they wrote, as it would not be in their interest to send that letter back for others to see i guess. I just received a full offer back via them but it contained a letter from the Financial Ombudsman Service. I guess they know some information that i do not, in order to win a claim, hence they can charge for their service, which i have to say is money well spent in my opinion.0

Can you type up the FOS letter in full since that would be nice to see their response since they rarely deal with Business bank charges cases.i received a total of just over £1300.00 in charges with the bank, so that is the claim i made via the company mentioned. the letter states
As we explained in our leaflet, your complaint and the ombudsman - which we provided when we received MR **** complaint, we try wherever we can to resolve complaints informally, by mediating between the customer ans the bank. This usually involves negotiating a way forward that is satisfactory to both sides - without the need for a lenghty formal investigation.
Following our involvement, Alliance & Leicester has now reviewed your client's complaint. Whilst it does not accept that its charges are unlawful or unfair, it has told us that it would prefer to settle the complaint as an alternative to our formal investigation. It accepts no liability, but nonetheless says that as a gesture of goodwill it will refund your client with the £1300.00 in full and final settlement of the dispute. However the bank has delined to include any allowance for lost interest. According to the bank the offer represents a refund of all the defailt charges incurred on the account over the period concerned and, on this basis, we assume your client will find it acceptale.
As we mentioned in your complain and the ombudsman, consumers have the right to ask an ombudsnab ti review their case - as the final stage in our process. However, i hope that this will not now be necessary in this case.0 -
Well done. I don't think you need to employ a company to put a complaint into the FOS really, the FOS would actually prefer complaints to come from the customer/complainant.
for info from FOS.
Can the ombudsman service help with complaints from small businesses?
Yes. We can normally look at complaints from small businesses that have an annual turnover of less than £1 million.
And from November 2009 we can look at complaints from businesses with an annual turnover of up to 2 million euros and fewer than ten staff.LegalBeagles0 -

Well people can always try, but i dont know what the company actually did, or sent, but clearly their tactics work, and as a company they have the skill and knowledge of what to do and correctly. It got me my money back, so in my opinion was well worth the cost.
By all means try to complain yourself, and if you dont get any joy, then give wadeandco.co.uk a try.
However i would say what is most important, is that businesses know that they can still claim and claim NOW!0
