Refunding gym membership

On Saturday I went to my gym (The Bay Health Club, Stoke Newington) to find the doors locked and a notice on the window stating:
"Due to an illegal rent increase we are closing our gym. All memberships have been cancelled"
It is an independent gym and their membership direct debits are handled by a third party (Harlands). I phoned Harlands immediately, they knew nothing of the gym closing but agreed to cancel my direct debit. Thing is, my GF and I have both just paid for this month about a week ago.
If you divide the monthly direct debit into the number of lost days then we are owed a reasonable amount of money, over £50. Other people may be worse off if their DD date is later, or if they have just paid joining fees.
We have no contact at all with the gym. Their phone number "is no longer accepting incoming calls" and the DD company just passes our fees on to the gym's accounts. What's more annoying is that the gym website is still up and running and appears to be processing new memberships online!
