Hi

I just got paid by an e-cheque for item sold on ebay. Do I wait for the e-cheque to clear or do I send goods now? Thanks for your help.

I've just had one of those, they're annoying!

Always wait for them to clear. I send the buyer a message saying it won't clear til whatever date so I can't post til then.

You have to wait until the e-cheque clears before sending the item. Sometimes it can take up to 10+ days to clear.

I echo entirely what the others have said. *Always* wait for the echeque to clear as they occasionally bounce back and you would be left out of pocket.

Thanks for that - the e-cheque should clear by 16th May, so I'll send the buyer an email to say when it clears I'll send the goods. Thanks for all you help everyone.

I've been paid with an e-cheque this week as well. They take ages to clear.

Is there any way you can STOP people paying with these on PayPal?

It took 14 days for my last payment by echeque to clear - 3 days longer than Paypal estimated. I just kept in contact with my buyer. They're a damn nuisance.

Don't know but echo your hatred of e-cheques. Take bloody ages to clear, my last one took 14 days to clear but kept getting hassle off the buyer as it had cleared from her account after 7 days!! What were Paypal doing with the money?
