Buying kids clothing

where is the best place for kids clothing thats to put it bluntly is not too badly priced.

I have always shopped in next and debenhams and a few kids shops for my two (porbably the reason we are in so much debt as i used to go out and buy them clothing for the sake of it)

anyway i can no longer really pay the prices they charge(would think nothing before of buying a 10.00 tshirt) in these particullar shops as i now have a small monthy clothing budget

anyway my ds2 needs summer clothing where would be the best place in terms of value and quality

Hi ya, I too always shopped in Next & Gap for my 2 (aged 4 & 1), nowadays Asda, Tesco & Primark have great fashionable clothes for Kids, many resemble Next clothes anyway

    Hiya

I still shop in Debenhams and Next, but ONLY now when they have their sales or Debenhams have their 70% off items. Bought DD somelovely jeans from Debs a few weeks back from £28 to £5, so bought 2 pairs (1 now and 1 next size).

If you read my posts, you will see I am a big Ebay fan:D ;) If you know what you like (Gap, Next etc etc), you can grab some excellent bargains. Primarks I find are excellent for t-shirts and underwear but their jeans not brilliant. TKMax do designer clothes vastly reduced.

I am also a big fan of bootsales and some jumble sales.

I know where your coming from though. Used to only buy designer wear for DD or brand names at full prices:eek: but she doesnt go without anything.

Try supermarkets. Adsa (George), Tesco (Florence & Fred) and Sainsbury's (Tu) all have reasonably priced clothing, for both adults and kids. Do you live near a Matalan? They are very inexpensive and although not quite as good quality as Next & Debenhams, are usually outgrown rather than worn out.

I have occasionally bought my son clothes from TK Maxx but don't really like going there as it feels like a jumble sale, although I got him a great ski jacket earlier this year.

    Hope this helps.

I get almost all my kids clothes from Gap and Monsoon but I only ever buy in the sales. Often they are selling things that are going out of season so I buy ahead for the next year in appropiate size etc. I have 3 lads so it all gets passed down.

I have started buying the sproglets clothes on ebay, and just got the eldest a lovely jacket from gap for very little! It's just too much to buy designer stuff full price, they either grow out of it in 5 minutes or put a hole in it! All the lovely expensive stuff my daughter had was kept for 'good', and as a result was hardly ever worn. Primark and the sales are great!

I don't have any children but my sister usually shops in Tesco or Primark for my nephew (8) and niece (6). They grow out of the clothes before they wear out!

Gap can be ridiculously expensive at its normal prices but they always have a Sale rail of children's clothes on the go (even when its not sale time) and you can get some real bargains.

Try your local branch of the National Childbirth Trust - most will have nearly new sales about 3 or 4 times a year - great for bargains.

I buy my kids GAP but only the sale stuff and they always have stuff reduced as get new lines in about every 8wks. ASDA also good, though as my daughter a bit bigger now the stuff not to good for older girls So Tesco better for her. I love Next I think most stuff reasonably priced and washers. Though I do limit the number of sets of clothes for each child to about seven and then if I buy other thing I get the cheap vest and short packs from asda for both.

Another idea is if you've got friends with kids around same age you could trade sizes.

i like to dress my 2 in next / gap / designer clothing

but im buying more and more stuff off ebay now

eg a jasper conran junior shirt which was in debenhams for £15 cost me £2 inc P&P ,it was like new !

TBH people say ooooooh next etc is really expensive but i dont find much difference betwen next and say adams or mothercare etc and some things are actually cheaper!

eg a pair of denim 3/4 length shorts in adams today age 4 = £11 the equivalent in next = £8.99

next wash really well and last,i always resell on ebay :)
