Recurring Paypal problem

I had the same problem happen to me a couple of times with paypal. I've won a couple of auctions with the same seller and go to pay both (in order to get reduced postage usually), however whenever I click to pay a get an error message. I can pay for each separately easily but can't pay for them together. Total pain and I can't find a solution on paypal site. Anybody else worked this out?

Aren't you supposed to wait for the seller to send you a combined invoice?? Failing that, I've managed to reduce the postage on items before now but don't know if you can do that on all auctions.
