question for estate agents re offer on house

Hi Olias
Others above me may not agree but this agent is taking a very sensible approach to request this information and they have every right to.
In this market we all know its difficult to raise finance. A prudent agent will request this info to try and prevent a sale falling through due to the purchaser being unable to a mortgage.
This was of course not so necessary a few years ago when anyone with a pulse was handed a mortgage,
They don't want the client to go through the stress of having their buyer fall out of bed post accepting an offer and the agent of course, doesn't want to go through the whole sales process again.
Best of luck with the purchase!!0 -
When we were buying, our EA wanted to see AIP & discuss our finances ..
I simply said: At *THAT* offer, we have a 40% deposit. We're not willing to borrow more. We can proceed immediately.
He nearly ripped my arm off ...0
