how to sell my shares?

Hi I bought some rbs shares in jan this year and want to sell them. Ibought them through my bank natwest. How do I actually sell them? Can i just go in branch and ask them to sell them for me and how long will it take for the money to into my bank Thanks

I doubt the branch has anything to do with share dealing. I imagine you'd talk to the same people you did to buy them. Which was probably NatWest Stockbrokers, which isn't actually the same company as NatWest Bank.0

You can sell them through a stockbroker. For example,

Probably cheaper than Nat West.0 -
Probably easiest to sell them where you bought them. I assume that you have the Share Certificates in your possession.

yes i have the share certs,have just been in natwest and they sold them for me but took £106 commision. I dont know if this is a lot or not as its the first time ive ever done it but have made £3400 since jan so im happy with that, Thanks for your replies0

Well done.
In future if you intend to deal in shares its cheaper to open an online account for about £10 per deal plus extra for Stamp Duty but none on selling, plenty of firms to choose from.
This entails the certificate being held in trust for you & the money is immediately deducted from & added to your account. Just make sure that the firm is FSA registered.
