DIY HIP for flat sales???

I need to get 4 HIPS done for 4 newly created flats. the flats are all in the same large detached house so it seems to me that I should either be able to get a cheaper set of hips from a hips provider as a lot of the data must surely duplicate (council searches will be the same for example). or perhaps I should do the HIPS myself. I emailed a hips provider but got no reply?? I know I need separate epcs. As we have lost money on this project due to the market, I am trying to avoid excess costs where possible. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

It does sound like DIY is an option, there is a thread already on here on the top few pages somewhere - if you want someone to do it for you then it's prob worth speaking to the solicitor that's selling it for you and seeing what deal they will do you on four. You will get a more personalised service I suspect than a company churning them out all day. The searches will all be the same, the PIQ photcopied I imagine. You'll need EPCs and the Land Registry Documents.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The Local Land charges search will be the same for all the flats so a big saving there. So will the water searches. Most local EPC inspectors will give a discount for 4 EPCs. The Index and sale statement will be the same. You will need the 4 title reg and plans (official) from the land reg. The PIQs should be the same.0

HIPs providers are fighting to get enough work and will give a good discount on doing 4.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0 -
Many thanks for the advice so far. I am trying to pluck up courage to start doing it myself. At the moment the whole house is registered so that is what the landsearch would show.the leasehold flats won't be registered until the solicitor does the leases. the solicitor didn't sound keen on doing the hips but we've used him before so think we'll stay with him. presumably that is all the hips can show at them moment? and no, surprisingly i havent had anygood offers from hips companies to do the 4.0

I have printed off the advice from the person who DIY'd a hip. One last question someone might know the answer to....when we instruct an agent presumably we give them one hard copy and they print off what they need? Or do we sent them attachments to an email that they print when they need them? I thought a lot of the documents from the council and possibly the epc would come as hard copies??? Many thanks for all the advice. I do try and help other folk when I have info about issues, but I am very aware of how much time people are giving to give me advice so thanks.0
